Encrypted In Transit and At Rest

Your backup data is encrypted before it leaves your environment and remains encrypted in cloud storage. Even if storage is compromised, your data isn't readable without your encryption keys.

Ransomware-Resistant Architecture

We use immutable backup storage and air-gapped copies that ransomware can't encrypt or delete. The most dangerous assumption in backup is that your attacker can't reach your recovery files — we assume they can, and architect accordingly.

3-2-1 Redundancy Standard

At minimum, we follow the 3-2-1 rule: three copies of your data, on two different media types, with one copy off-site. This provides protection against hardware failure, local disasters, and ransomware simultaneously.

Defined RTO & RPO

We establish your Recovery Time Objective (how fast you need to be back up) and Recovery Point Objective (how much data you can afford to lose). Backup strategy is then designed to meet those specific targets — not generic industry defaults.

Regular Recovery Testing

We test your backups by actually restoring from them on a scheduled basis. If a restore fails during testing, it's a problem we can fix. If it fails during a real incident, it's a crisis. We'd rather find out in testing.

How is this different from the backup built into Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace? +

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace retain deleted data for a limited window — they're not designed as a full backup solution. We add independent, encrypted, ransomware-resistant backup on top of your existing platforms, with defined recovery objectives and regular restore testing.

How do you know our backups will actually restore when we need them? +

We test recovery on a scheduled basis by actually restoring from backup — not just confirming the backup job completed. If a restore fails during a scheduled test, we fix it then, not during a real incident.

Can ransomware reach our backups too? +

Not with the architecture we use. We rely on immutable storage and air-gapped copies specifically because standard network-attached backups can be encrypted or deleted by ransomware that reaches your network. We assume an attacker could reach your primary systems and design backup isolation accordingly.

What's the difference between RTO and RPO, and why do they matter? +

Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is how fast you need to be back up and running. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is how much data you can afford to lose, measured in time — for example, 4 hours of work. We set both targets with you up front and design your backup schedule and infrastructure to actually meet them, rather than using generic defaults.
